Time is on our side!! Yeah right.

I am a total facebook addict. I love to keep up with everyone without have to really put myself on the line for a serious relationship. That is kinda how I work. Nate says I love to know everyone yet I keep them an arms length away. I know just by looking at post on facebook that we are ALL always busy. I can tell you right now that I am one of the busiest people around. Always thinking if I had 1 more hour in the day it would help so much. But would it really?? I think we now use time like we use money and that is "we use what we have." If we made a million dollars I am convinced that I would spend it and want more. It is the same with time. If we could just magically throw another hour or two into the day, I would be willing to bet that most of us would think I can just take more on. So I think that instead of wanting more time we should reflect what or whom am I working for? How is this new project going to affect my family, schedule, or relationship with God. Sometimes the things we are spreading ourselves so thin for might not even matter to the most important people in our lives. Most people are going to read this blog (if they take the time) and it will change nothing, and that is fine. But maybe just maybe, someone else might realize time is on MY SIDE!!

Don't Give Up on the Gravy

Reading my title you are thinking what?? Well I will tell you last night at 9 o'clock at night I was making biscuits and gravy for the boys. (they love that stuff) Now you have to understand when I make gravy it is with flour and milk and yes bacon grease. But I never measure anything I just make it. So I was stirring and it was not thickening up. I thought "Well I messed this gravy up!" Right about the time I was ready to give up guess what happened, yep it started to get thicker. I was just about ready to throw that gravy in the trash and then all of a sudden it was perfect. I was thinking as I was making 3 boys big plates of biscuits and gravy last night. That life is sometimes like gravy. We just throw a bunch of stuff into our schedules and hope it works out. Sometimes people don't let it cook long enough to see the final product they give up on it. Just like some people are giving up on their life that they have been building because they think it is not perfect. But if you would just wait and keep stirring more times than not you are going to have that moment when you are sooooo glad that you didn't give up. So my challenge is that, everyone is dealing with things in life that are hard. But, don't stop stirring! Don't give up on the gravy, and DON'T throw it away!

It's been awhile

Well after taking 6 months off of my blog I must say not much has change. We are still busier than ever with the kids and their activities. I just can't believe how fast time flies. The kids are getting so big. I catch myself wanting to freeze time. With ALL (yes I said ALL) the kids in school I found a little free time. So I am going to run my first 5k this Saturday. I must say that after the first few days of initial shock of not having someone to take care of every minute of the day I am loving having a little time for myself. I am so excited and nervous about the race on Saturday. I will say things at our church are going extremely well. Many new young families are being to attend and get involved in our church. It is so exciting becoming friends with people that we have known for a long time, but we have not had the opportunity to really know them. ZoomTown is awesome we had 51 kids in our Sunday morning service this week. God is using these kids too. It is a very exciting time at Verdigris Assembly of God and I am proud to be a part of what GOD is doing. Well I hope to blog a little more the kids have some of the funniest things to say. Sorry you would think I would have more after taking 6 months off. But the problem is, it is the same old story just a different time. But I love the all my little Cardinal's!!

Time I need more!!!

So when did we as adults start living our lives around other peoples schedules!!! I am sooo tired of people wanting me to do things that I am about to scream! I think I just need a vacation! The kids are so busy and I know we have to keep them involved but man when is enough, enough!! I am going to get off of my soap box now and give an update about the Bressie family. We had our family pictures taken last week I am hoping to get one up soon. The kids are so ready to get out of school and get their summer started. I am getting excited about church camp. There are some great things going on at our church right now I am really excited about. We had 39 kids in ZoomTown yesterday. I love having so many kids and I can tell the other kids enjoy being with their friends.
The big boys are in full baseball now. We made a family decision to pull the boys off of their competitive traveling teams. It was such a hard decision but I think it was the right one for our family. They are still getting to play a little ball through the week. I know Devin really misses playing on the weekend, and sometimes me too. But I DO NOT miss playing on Sunday. I want to make all effort possible to keep that a family day. Cody and Averee are playing soccer. Believe it or not Averee is not to bad. She still has eyes only for Cheer leading (which she will start in the fall). I have been really surprised at her aggressiveness.
Hot weather is just around the corner and I hope everyone enjoys there days with their kids.
One last thought-
Enjoy the little stuff, sometimes I feel like I am just living to make it though the day. If there are dishes in the sink they will still be there but your baby girl won't always want you to play dress up with her! I think a lot about time with Averee because I realized we almost lost her 3 years ago! God healed her for a reason and I plan on playing with her and enjoy every moment that we have together!!

Need More Time

I am trying hard to get used to our new back to school schedule. I am extremely proud of myself for getting up each day with the kids to get them out the door on time. I have decided everyday is now like getting ready for church in my house.. The boys are also all primed for their first football game this Saturday night. Riley plays at 6 and Devin right after at 7:30. It was a short summer but my poor house just never gets any quality time so I am dedicating one day a week to totally clean out a room or a closet. I started on Riley's yesterday and it looks great, which will motivate me for the BIG UGLY aka Devin's room. Our church is going to have a garage sale September the 11th so anything I find I will be donated to that sale. I hope we raise tons of money. Our church is really to beginning to change. I am excited, it is hard not to be. I have the most amazing job ever. Not many people can say they love their job, but I honestly can. Great things are coming to Verdigris I am just excited to be a part of it. I am putting up a few back to school picks you guys have probably already seen, but I am also posting the boys football schedule for 2009. Hope you some of you can come and cheer for the Verdigris Cardinals!

The Day's of Bressie

Well School is here. Where did summer go? I can't believe that I have four kids that are going to school. I am feeling a little bit of the empty nest. I told Nate that I would like to have another baby and he just started laughing. He promised me that feeling would pass. We had a great summer together though. We spent a week in Branson at the little league World Series for Devin's baseball team. The Redbird's did good will have to post more pictures later. We played a lot of baseball this summer. I think Riley's team played over 60 games and Devin's around 50. Cody played indoor and outdoor soccer all summer and learned that he really loves indoor soccer. Averee is now on the Gymnastics team so our fall and winter is sure to be full of Football and Gymnastics meets. I am very excited about football one of my favorites to watch the boys play. Well this is my first try at blogging but I am sure that I will have plenty to go on about. I hope you enjoyed getting up to date in The Day's of Bressie
