Don't Give Up on the Gravy

Reading my title you are thinking what?? Well I will tell you last night at 9 o'clock at night I was making biscuits and gravy for the boys. (they love that stuff) Now you have to understand when I make gravy it is with flour and milk and yes bacon grease. But I never measure anything I just make it. So I was stirring and it was not thickening up. I thought "Well I messed this gravy up!" Right about the time I was ready to give up guess what happened, yep it started to get thicker. I was just about ready to throw that gravy in the trash and then all of a sudden it was perfect. I was thinking as I was making 3 boys big plates of biscuits and gravy last night. That life is sometimes like gravy. We just throw a bunch of stuff into our schedules and hope it works out. Sometimes people don't let it cook long enough to see the final product they give up on it. Just like some people are giving up on their life that they have been building because they think it is not perfect. But if you would just wait and keep stirring more times than not you are going to have that moment when you are sooooo glad that you didn't give up. So my challenge is that, everyone is dealing with things in life that are hard. But, don't stop stirring! Don't give up on the gravy, and DON'T throw it away!

It's been awhile

Well after taking 6 months off of my blog I must say not much has change. We are still busier than ever with the kids and their activities. I just can't believe how fast time flies. The kids are getting so big. I catch myself wanting to freeze time. With ALL (yes I said ALL) the kids in school I found a little free time. So I am going to run my first 5k this Saturday. I must say that after the first few days of initial shock of not having someone to take care of every minute of the day I am loving having a little time for myself. I am so excited and nervous about the race on Saturday. I will say things at our church are going extremely well. Many new young families are being to attend and get involved in our church. It is so exciting becoming friends with people that we have known for a long time, but we have not had the opportunity to really know them. ZoomTown is awesome we had 51 kids in our Sunday morning service this week. God is using these kids too. It is a very exciting time at Verdigris Assembly of God and I am proud to be a part of what GOD is doing. Well I hope to blog a little more the kids have some of the funniest things to say. Sorry you would think I would have more after taking 6 months off. But the problem is, it is the same old story just a different time. But I love the all my little Cardinal's!!
